Nicholas Leno

Nicholas Leno

Artistic Producer

Nicholas is a theatre director and producer, who grew up in ‘middle of nowhere’ rural South Western Ontario and now splits his time between Ottawa and the west coast of Newfoundland.

From 2018 – 2023 Nicholas was the Artistic Director of a Company of Fools, where he executed the biggest outdoor theatre tour in Canada: an eight week Shakespeare in the Park tour that travels to 40 venues across Eastern Ontario. From 2018-2022 he ran Ottawa’s Fresh Meat Festival, where he presented 10 new 20-minute creations by Ottawa artists.

As a freelance director, Nicholas has worked on independent productions that have been programmed by the Undercurrents Festival, TACTICS, the National Arts Centre’s Canada Scene, In the Soil Arts Festival, and the Kick and Push Festival.

If he isn’t in a theatre, Nicholas can be found canoeing or backcountry camping.
